Annual

Germination: 7-25 days

Germination Temperature: Optimum soil temperatures 55-65ºF

Seed Planting Depth: Sow on the surface and lightly cover

Starting Indoors:  Start indoors 6-8 weeks before the last frost. Provide 55-65ºF soil temperature. Using peat, cow, or paper pots can help with the stress of transplanting, they grow delicate roots, and successful transplanting may be challenging. Transplant apart after the last frost, 6-12” apart.  

Sowing Outdoors: Start 1-2 weeks before the last frost date, sow a few seeds every 3-6” apart. 

Growth Habit: Upright, branching

Height and Width: 24-36" x 12-18" 

Spacing: 6-12" apart

Light Needs: Full sun 

Soil Needs: Average to Fertile, well-drained

Approximate days to flower from seed: 65-75 days

Uses: Flower beds, Fresh cut and dried flowers attracts beneficials

Care: Water seedlings regularly until established. Amend soil with compost before transplanting. Harvest fresh cut or dried flowers- when they are almost open, hang upside down in a dark room with good airflow.
